We are pleased to announce that The Greater Manchester (GM) Health & Social Care Partnership has appointed Global Vision Initiative and icare Foundation (Youth Group) as Perinatal & PIMH Champions across the city-region.
This ingenious initiative is aimed at increasing the knowledge of perinatal and parent-infant mental health in voluntary and community organisations that work specifically with diverse communities such as BAME communities.
It is unequivocal that the first 1,001 days of a child’s life, from pregnancy to age two, are vital in laying the foundations for a happy and healthy life, hence the support and wellbeing of babies during this time is strongly linked to better outcomes later in life, including educational achievement, progress at work and physical and mental health.
GVI & icare Foundation will assist families in need as a trusted source of support get help from the right services as soon as they need it, reduce barriers to accessing mental ill health specialist support, work with statutory agencies to reduce health inequalities, build understanding between people, respectful and open to different cultural perspectives, strengthen cultural security and work towards equality in opportunity etc.
